How the Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card works
The Exxon Mobil Smart Card+™ credit card is a proprietary label credit card that can only be used at participating Exxon™ and Mobil™ branded stations. It can be used for fuel or car washes purchased at the pump or through the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app at most stations. It can also be used for snacks, drinks, fuel, car washes and many other items purchased in the convenience store at most locations.
Every time you use your Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card to pay for fuel at an Exxon™ or Mobil™ station, you enjoy an instant-savings rollback right at the pump. Save 12¢** on every gallon of premium fuels, or save 10¢** a gallon on all other fuel grades.
If discounts at the pump are unavailable for any reason, you’ll receive the discounts as a statement credit in one to two billing cycles. In that case, you won’t see a reduction in the price per gallon at the pump. The statement credits will be posted to your monthly billing statement automatically.
You can get 5% back** via statement credit on qualifying non-fuel purchases at participating Exxon™ and Mobil™ stations. Eligible purchases include in-store items such as snacks, drinks and even car washes. Only applicable to your first $1,200 of non-fuel purchases per year. Qualifying in-store purchases exclude lottery tickets, money orders and gift cards. State restrictions may apply.
The 5%** earned on your first $1,200 of non-fuel purchases per year will be paid as a credit on your monthly Citi statement. It may take 1-2 billing cycles for the statement credit to appear with qualifying purchases.
Credit Card Enrollment
Anyone who is 18 years and older and a U.S. citizen can apply for the Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card. Applications are subject to credit approval by Citibank. Account must be open and in good standing at all times to get the automatic savings.
You can apply for the card online. During the application process, you will be directed to Citibank, the issuer of the card. Citibank uses encryption for application information. If Citibank approves your application, Citibank will mail you a physical credit card that you can begin using for payment at the pump and inside the store at participating Exxon and Mobil locations as soon as you receive it in the mail.
Yes. In addition to applying online, you can also apply in the app. Open the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app and click on the “Featured” tile at the bottom of the home page. You’ll then be prompted to start filling out the application.

If your application is approved, a physical Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card will arrive in the mail within seven to 10 business days in most cases.
Exxon Mobil Rewards+ and Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card
Yes. You can stack the benefits of the Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card with our Rewards program benefits. Rewards members will receive the immediate cents per gallon rollback from the credit card in addition to earning points on fuel or in-store purchases for future redemption.
Yes, you can redeem your eligible points balance while using your Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card as a payment method at participating Exxon and Mobil stations.
To get the Tobacco Program discounts at participating Exxon and Mobil locations, swipe your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ loyalty card or type in the phone number (Alt-ID) associated with your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account before paying for your qualifying purchase. If using your Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card as the payment method, you will also earn 5% back** as a statement credit on your first $1,200 of non-fuel purchases per year. State restrictions may apply.

You will receive ongoing fuel savings of 10¢ per gallon on regular, mid-grade and diesel fuel and 12¢ per gallon on Supreme+™ premium gas, which will be received as a reduced fuel price at the point of sale. In the event discounts at the point of sale are unavailable for any reason, you will receive the earned discounts as a statement credit within 1 to 2 billing cycles. In that case, you will not see the 12¢ per gallon or 10¢ per gallon reduction in the price per gallon at the pump or prior to the completion of an in-store fuel purchase. You can earn 5% back as a statement credit on your first $1,200 in Exxon™ and Mobil™ non-fuel purchases made each year with your card at Exxon™ or Mobil™ locations.
